Machine embroidered blocks each individually enhanced with Lumiere metallic paints in blues and silver.The blocks were then assembled, borders added and hand quilted with #5 embroidery floss.

Artist Statement
I enjoy creating art quilts and trying new techniques. I used my embroidery machine to stitch each block and then hand painted them with metallic paint in several colors. The fabric has sparkles in it and reminded me of snow and winter. I hope the viewer gets a sense of wintertime and the shimmer of snow in the sunlight. This is the first art quilt that I have used painted and embroidered blocks and I am pleased with the results. Fabric is a wonderful medium with many options to create with.
