Artist Statement
When I think of the Houston Rodeo, so many exciting things come to my mind. Such has BBQ's, Parades, Concerts, Livestock Show, Calf Scramble, Art, Bull Riding, etc. One of my favorite activities to watch is Mutton Bustin; I believe it's one of the fan favorites. The "Spirit of the Rodeo" to me is Mutton Bustin! You can see the excitement on the kid's faces. "Hanging On" is original design, and just a FUN Quilt for the kids, they can relate to. In honor of my Grandmother, 75 year old buttons are used in this wall hanging.
