Artist Statement
Five retired teachers collaborated to create this quilt that celebrates different parts of the year. Each partner created 5 squares that represented their vision of the four seasons. Displayed on a golden rod frame, squares out perfectly together like the melting pot our country was founded upon. From an Easter bunny with 3-dimensional ears that marks Springtime to the Texas bluebonnets of summer. This creative and unique handsewn quilt symbolizes the tradition, memories, and freedoms of the American citizen.
