The quilt is a strip pieced red, white, and blue Texas Lone Star Flag. The backing is Texas signs and symbols with red, white, and blue binding. I looked at Lone Star quilts on Pinterest, then saw one on the Dolph Brisco Center for American History site.

Artist Statement
I have wanted to do a Lone Star Quilt for a while. I looked on Pinterest and found some, but wanted them more scrappy. I pieced mine by sewing various red, white and blue 2.5” strips together and then cut those strips into smaller pieces and pieced them into the different sections of the flag. I love to sew and quilt and hope to improve with each project.
